Refund!

You know how you can't ignore certain things that keep coming up in life? Lately, for me, info on bad plastics (#3, #6, #7 & BPA) have been popping up everywhere! I had done some research but really didn't feel the budget part was working for us. Well, yesterday I ventured into the BabiesRUs in Hurst and happened to overhear a mom talking to a manager about some of her Dr. Brown's products. Turns out they were refunding the bottles at FULL PRICE because of the harmful toxins! I ran home and pulled together $75 worth of used bottles. I returned them and purchased these. I'd like to make a switch to glass (they make really great ones with silicone covers, however we travel so much I don't want to chance the breaking factor). If you want more information, I recommend you check out this site. We are slowly making some headway into making our home much less "toxic"!!!

Dani, I completely agree with you. Actually plastic is just bad. We are almost completely organic in our home, but are still a work in progress. Even the plastic milk jugs you use are harmful. I buy milk in glass containers. You can really taste the difference!!! They are so many things to consider. Good luck with everything and don't get overwhelmed by everything you read. It is a slow process to switch things over. Take care!!

I have to say that is a pretty cool picture!! :) I need to study up on this stuff. I do use the drop in liners for Anderson when we use a bottle and I think they have been approved to be OK. I need new sippy cups though for sure.

Thanks for posting about that, I keep two small children, one just turned 7 months old yesterday and has been on Dr. Brown and Avent...I emailed his Mommy and my neighbor who is expecting in the fall and everyone I know who has small ones at home. Very good information.
Your new camera rocks, great pictures of your cuties!

Dani,
We went through the same thing with Baylee's bottles only they weren't refunding hers, so I just threw them away, but our sippy cups check out ok, so that is good, we are trying to go green on several things in our house, it is hard... but I know it is so much better for everyone! I need your email address, all I have is your school one and it keeps sending messages back. Take care and good luck with the move!

Hi, I am a friend of Elizabeth's. Did you have to have a receipt for the bottles? I have a TON of Avent and Dr. Browns. I bought the Parent's Choice BPA free at Wal-mart ($2.98 for a 3 pack). But if I could exchange my others it would be really helpful! Thanks.

before you make a switch, the FDA and the American Association of Pediatrics have published very recent articles and made statements that there is NOT enough BPA present in any of these bottles to harm anything. And, you can trust when such an agency makes a statement like this. hope this helps!
